Sod Installation Services in Waco, Texas

Everything it takes to go from dirt (or dead grass) to a lawn that sticks, for homes and small properties around Waco.

New lawn installation

For new builds and bare dirt yards. We clear debris, loosen the soil, bring in topsoil where it's thin, grade for drainage, then lay fresh sod and roll it.

Lawn replacement

Old lawn thin, patchy or overrun with weeds? We take out the old grass, fix the soil underneath, and put down new sod so you start clean.

Patching and repair

Dead spots from dogs, shade, a busted sprinkler or a septic or utility dig. We cut out the bad area and match it as close as we can with the same grass.

Heads up: if the same spot keeps dying, there's a reason. Usually a sprinkler that isn't hitting it, or too much shade. We'll tell you before we sell you more sod.

Soil prep and grading

Grading so water runs away from your foundation, filling low spots where water sits, and topsoil for thin or rocky ground. Available on its own or as part of a sod job.

Grass types we install

St. Augustine

Wide blades, deep green, handles some shade. The most common lawn in Waco. Needs regular water in summer.

Bermuda

Loves full sun and heat, spreads fast, bounces back from kids and dogs. Thins out in shade.

Zoysia

Thick and soft like carpet. Slower to fill in, but once it's set it holds up well and uses a bit less water.

Pricing

Installed sod around Waco usually quotes somewhere around $1.20 to $2.25 per square foot. Where you land depends on how much prep the yard needs, which grass you pick, and how easy it is to get a pallet to your yard. We measure on site and give you one written number, so there are no surprise pallets on the bill.

Common questions

How long before I can walk on new sod?

Keep traffic light for about two weeks while the roots grab. You can mow once it's rooted and the grass is a little taller than your mowing height, usually two to three weeks in warm weather.

Do you remove the old grass?

Yes. We spray or strip the old grass and weeds first. Laying new sod over old lawn is a shortcut that usually fails.

Do you bring topsoil?

When the yard needs it, yes. Thin soil over limestone and scraped-off builder lots are the most common reasons.

Do you work with HOAs and rentals?

Yes. Homeowners, landlords, HOAs and small commercial properties.
